Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the Participant will be able to:
- Describe generator excitation and grounding, major components of an AC generator, and the ele ments of a power generation system, a power generator and generator protection
- Evaluate a generator’s total performance (KVA performance, excitation current, terminal voltage performance, reactance, output KW, and stability), using manufacturer’s data, load parameters, and current industry standards
- Explain the principles of parallel operations of generators in terms of load matching, load shedding, synchronization, voltage regulator cross-current compensation, co-generation,and reactor fault-current limiting
- Apply appropriate Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), Saudi Aramco Material System Specifications (SAMSS), and industry engineering standards and procedures
