Work planning and scheduling skills
Objectives

The student will reliably demonstrate the ability to:

1. Starting with the Project Charter, develop the Project Scope Statement, and the Work

Breakdown Structure, WBS

2. Determine the activities needed to plan, schedule and estimate the resources required

for the implementation of the project.

3. Using the WBS, identify all of the activities involved in the project, and prepare graphic

displays of the schedule; i.e., Gantt charts and a network diagrams.

4. Apply the critical path method to determine the project completion time.

5. Plan for resources, identify its constraints and assess the scheduling risks.

6. Apply the project planning, scheduling and costing techniques to different types of

projects, e.g. construction, software development and procurement projects, using an

advanced level of Microsoft Project 2007 features.

7. Determine the performance variances with respect to the baselines, using Earned Value
